Saluf

Kutiman Jump-Starts 2020 With Potent Limited Edition 7" Of Middle Eastern Appeal

Hot on the heels of a busy 2019 for the ever-busy and multi-talented Israeli producer, including a pleasantly psycho-active jazz funk five-tracker, Kutiman jump-starts 2020 with his latest limited edition 7" release. The sleek new "Saluf" EP  features two highly desirable desert funk burners, e.g. the fan favourite title-track as well as "Badawee" on the flip side.

"Saluf" is "an irresistible hypnotic Middle Eastern brain melter that is steadily building and charging with harmonising synths and horns on top of dubbed out drums and handclaps," and has been a much lauded part of the Kutiman Orchestra's live sets for some years now. It's vibe is infectiously laid-back yet equally fiery and captivating, a track that will fill dance floors and smoke-filled lounges alike.

"Badawee" on the other hand is new to the souk and definitely the more cosmic affair, exploring its new surroundings with eager eyes, snaking its way through narrow alleys, "a potent, slow burning Middle Eastern head nodder that just keeps on giving." As a filthy drum-break and sparkling cymbals lead the way, the caravan marches on through a star-filled night, accompanied by transcendent synth flourishes.

This one is a must for all psych nuts out there. You can stream/buy the two-tracker below, but be quick before stocks run low.
