17/11/2021DJ Jean Trouillet Compiles An Open-End 'Club Classics' Playlist For Frankfurt's The OhOhOhs

Frankfurt's inseparable two-piece The OhOhOhs recently releasd its new album "Sturm & Drang",  unleashing a world of thrilling, high-intensity musicality on unsuspecting listeners near and far. Combining the classical with the club universe, the duo has produced a collection of 12 tracks that skilfully merge two distinct genres to form something magical, as cliché as that might sound. Tirelessly de- and reconstructing material, pianist Florian Waeldele and drummer Florian Dressler have created a dynamic entirely their own to address a wide audience of like-minded music enthusiasts.

On the occasion of their latest album release, fellow Frankfurt-based DJ Jean Trouillet (Weltbeat/Globalwize) has now curated an open-end Spotify playlist outlining and connecting the musical dots found within The OhOhOhs' cosmos, to be continuously enriched in due time. The playlist currently comprises 43 tracks in a wide array of styles yet all containing classical elements arranged with a contemporary mindset. You'll be surprised to see the range of tunes inspired by the duo's wild mix.

The "Konzertante Klubmusik" playlist brings us productions by The OhOhOhs themselves, Moondog, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, Ibrahim Maalouf and the Haïdouti Orkestar, Grace Jones, Isfar Sarabski, Mozart, Schubert, Hindi Zahra, Max Richter, Holger Czukay, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Zap Mama, Nitin Sawhney, the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio and many more. Tune in via the player below or head to Spotify for Greedio and stream the playlist in full to set the tone for "Sturm & Drang".
