Aloha! We are back with another episode of Globalwize, Jean Trouillet's regular radio show for Frankfurt's Radio X, now streaming live in our Greedio Mixcloud channel. #378 welcomes us with three nostalgic tunes from the Hawaiian songbook, followed by a pair of ear-opening cover versions by German band Wildes Holz and some 'oompa-ing' Brazilo-Bavarian brass. Then it's off to the Caucasus region and the yearning sounds of the A.G.A Trio (hailing from Armenia, Georgia and Anatolia), before Phonoboy pays folky tribute to 2020. Up next, Trouillet digs into his reggae collection, bringing us some vintage Burning Spear, Jacob Miller and Augustus Pablo as well as two contemporary productions by Soom T. Transitioning into the alternative underground sounds of the UK's Asian Dub Foundation and tying in a drum-heavy new track by Tunisian/Belgian producer AMMAR 808 the show moves on the African continent, featuring Abasko Touré's rap and Afel Bocoum's more traditional sounds from Mali, Nigerian big band Bantu's revolutionary afrobeat and iconic Senegalese dance band Orchestra Baobab.
