27/09/2020Israeli-Persian Singer Liraz Unveils Confident Second Single Off Forthcoming Album On Glitterbeat

Late last year, the highly touted and multi-talented Israeli-Persian singer Liraz brought forth her empowering, stunningly choreographed anthem "Zan Bezan" (transl. 'Women, Sing'), a resounding and danceable invitation to women all over the world to regain their freedom. The colourful track also delivered a promising first taste of things to come, being the first release since her acclaimed 2018 debut album "Naz" on Tel Aviv's Dead Sea Recordings.

Now, after weathering the first wave of this year's global pandemic, Liraz has premiered track number two off her forthcoming sophomore album "Zan" (transl. 'Women'), to be released later this year on Glitterbeat Records. Produced by Uri Brauner Kinrot (whom you may be familiar with from his involvement with Boom Pam and Selda Bağcan), her latest single "Injah" (transl. 'Here') is a vibrant, synth-driven belter, refusing to be silenced.

Accompanied by an epic, drone-captured music video, "Injah" is further testament to her musical prowess, another impactful piece of her personal revolution. Her contemporary Persian pop is an intriguingly confident precursor, sung in Farsi, the language of her parents. “I felt it was the only way I could connect to my heritage and to my grandparents, and still keep pushing forward as a woman,” Liraz explains.

"Zan" will be out on Glitterbeat on November 13th.
