A lot has happened since Jean aired and we shared the last instalment of Globalwize back in September. But today we return with a brand-new episode of WeltBeat host and selector Jean Trouillet's far-reaching format. Originally aired on Frankfurt community radio X, the "Globalwize Radioshow #433" is now up and streaming exclusively on the Greedio Mixcloud channel. Jean's latest broadcast includes music by Sebastian Mirow and the all-female viol consort Les Escapades with a piece by Henry Purcell, inspired early music ensemble The Playfords, early music chamber collective Notturna led by oboist Christopher Palameta, French guitarist Thibaut Garcia with a tribute to Paraguayan guitar virtuoso and composer Agustín Barrios and a historical recording by the latter, virtuosic Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca (of Buena Vista Social Club fame), Cuban Swiss violinist, singer and composer Yilian Cañizares, award-winning Québecoise singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé, former Bolivian ambassador to France and iconic indigenous Andean singer Luzmila Carpio, the Slovenian retro-avant-garde group Laibach with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra presenting an original symphonic work in collaboration with Iranian composers and performers, French jazz sextet Asynchrone reimagining legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto's repertoire, the international Munich-based ensemble JISR collaborating with the virtuoso vocalist of the Carnatic vocal tradition Ramamani R.A. and the German guitarist and oud player Roman Bunka to create an intercontinental opus magnum, German acoustic three-piece Wildes Holz with their 25-year anniversary album, Swiss trombonist and composer Samuel Blaser presenting his Jamaican jazz tribute to the legendary Don Drummond, São Paulo's afro-Brazilian groove visionaries Bixiga 70, legendary Malian singer-songwriter, guitarist and master of the kamalen n'goni Idrissa Soumaoro (read more here), renowned Tuareg guitarist and songwriter Omara 'Bombino' Moctar and, last but definitely not least, the singular experimental dub project African Head Charge returning to On-U Sound after a twelve-year hiatus (read more here)!
