Here's another one for you diggers out there: Copenhagen's Epic Vinyls from Brazil DJs Contracapa and Sambamuffin deliver another 1-hour vinyl only treasure trove of Brazilian psych records from the late 1960s and 70s along with a tracklist and liner notes to all 22 tracks by artists the likes of Gilberto Gil, Caetano Velosa, Gal Costa, Os Mutantes, Jorge Ben, Raul Seixas, Tim Maia and many more. The mix is labeled LSD-1, a tip of the hat to the recently released Brazilian book LSD (aka Lindo Sonho Delirante, or Beautiful Delirious Dream) by Bento Araújo, showcasing 100 noteworthy Brazilian psych records from 1968-1975. You can find a preview here.
"Even though we initially set out to make rock and fuzz music the connecting thread in this mix, somehow it ended up being the master from Bahia, Gilberto Gil. Responsible for many manifestations of Brazilian culture in and out of Brazil, Gil is a true force of nature. His music always has a strong connection to the Brazilian heritage and roots."
You can listen to the beautiful mix in the SoundCloud player above. And don't forget to show the Epic Vinyls from Brazil crew some love.
