Indians & Cowboys & a Grammy

06/01/2017Den Sorte Skole Reel In A Danish Grammy & Announce Huge Roskilde Show For 2017

Happy 2017 everyone! Before we kick off a new year of excitement and extraordinary music from around the globe, we would like to take a minute to reflect on last year or rather to share our personal favourite of 2016 with you, being Den Sorte Skole's "Indians & Cowboys" LP, which was rightfully awarded a Danish Grammy for "World Album of the Year 2016" last December, while the two are also nominated as "Best Live Act 2016" for the Danish Critics Award. Well deserved guys!

The Danish sample wizards did it again, releasing yet another seamless longplayer made up of thousands of samples from every corner of the universe and still available as a free download.

What's more, the duo just announced a huge show at this year's Roskilde Festival along with a promising trailer, which you can watch below. Rumour has it they are preparing a custom-made spectacle to be performed exclusively on the festival's notorious Orange Stage:

"Imagine the black sky high above Orange Stage. A deafening bass shakes the earth. A portal into a parallel world opens – a place where ancient ghosts and distorted machines communicate through heavenly spirituals and poisonous rhythms. Two tribal robot conductors emerge, bringing along a group of otherworldly guests for a once-in-a-lifetime performance. A surreal musical journey through past, present and future that will make your body move, your jaw drop and your mind space out."

We'll leave it at that, while we go ahead and book our tickets because this is going to be far out to say the least. Hey 2017, bring it on!
