ABOUT

Greedy For Best Music, the transnational label specialised in the morphing sounds of the Yiddish and Jewish world, is happy to present #3 in the “Tanz Muzik” series, where tradition meets club music. For “A Vaibele A Tsnien” (Yiddish for “A Modest Girl”), Philippe Cohen Solal from Paris, formerly the head of Gotan Project, teamed up with Swedish singer Gabi Goldman to transform an old Yiddish party hit into a club-ready hip shaker. Inspired by shatta rhythms and arguably the first-ever “Yiddi Shatta” tune, the track connects tropical dancefloor energy with Eastern European Jewish musical traditions.

Driven by a dembow-inspired rhythm produced by Lazy Flow, the song blends traditional melodies with contemporary global bass pressure. The expressive violin lines by Paul Lazar add a cinematic, emotional layer, turning the track into a vibrant dialogue between folklore, electronic music and modern dancefloor culture.

From the shtetl to the club — a Yiddish groove for the world’s dance floors!
